I've come up with a cool system to help you refer others to the game and thus earn many community credits! All you have to do is paste this link all over the internet:

http://subvein.net/?ref=yourusernamehere

Replacing the red bit with your forum username. So I would do:

http://subvein.net/?ref=bencelot


Now what will happen.. is whenever anyone clicks that link and comes to the site.. the server will associate their IP with your username. And when they download the new version in 0.6.. YOUR username will be automatically entered as their reference.

This means you can start posting this link around right now and get as many IP's associated with your name as possible. When 0.6 comes out, all of these people will suddenly see your name as their reference when they create/login to their account, and your points shall flow!!

The results of this will obviously be more apparent when v0.6 comes out.. but I thought I'd share this with you now as the system is actually up and running.

If you have a blog or a webpage or even a facebook account.. you can just paste your custom link into it and let it do it's thing. When v0.6 comes around you'll have a nice large group of players ready to sign you up as their reference. And of course.. it'll start bringing more players to the game right now

hehe yeah the system won't let you set yourself as a reference.

The incentive for players to enter a reference is still there though, because you receive 20 bonus community credits when you submit a valid reference. So for all of us existing players.. you can't enter yourself, but you'll want to enter SOMEONE.

If you remember who referred you to the game.. the NICE thing to do would be to enter them. Otherwise, just enter a friend. Maybe make a deal to enter eachother.. Try get someone like myself or Phrst or anyone who plays a lot to enter you as their reference and you'll be in the money!

And btw Kwiftee.. by clicking the link you haven't actually entered your reference yet. You can only enter your reference when you create a new account or login through the game. All that this link system does is automatically prepares the username in the reference textbox in the game.

So a new player will click your link.. download the game.. open up.. click new account.. and voila! They'll see "Kwiftee" has magically been pre-filled in the Reference textbox. They COULD change it if they wanted to.. and maybe 10% of people will.. but the vast majority will just leave it as is and upon signing up will enter you as their reference.

Once a reference has been submitted, it can't be changed. But just to clarify, your reference hasn't been submitted yet.

But I think BalLightning referred me here via a post he made on some other site. Can't remember seeing him in game and he hasn't made any posts but it says he logged in a few days ago.

P.S.: I found a super special secret hack that give you community points if you click it every day until Subvein 0.6 is released. This is the link you have to click every day for the Community Credits! Clicking that link more than once a day will also burn off some fat and reverse global warming as well as [INSERT A GOOD OUTCOME HERE]! It's a Win/Win situation!

Hmm is there any way for end users to see which users were refered by yourself? Because I have no idea who I have successfully reffered to this game. I don't remember posting the refferal link somewhere other than these forums either.

Maybe someone on these forums clicked on the referral you posted here and hence linked their ip to your name? Im guessing that's what happened with me, hehe.

Yup, that's what must've happened. I dunno who actually clicked the links.

Maybe you could have it record the IP address that that user made the account on.

Well yeah, in the table I have a list of IP addresses, and a corresponding reference username.

Atm these IP addys are useless.. but once 0.6 is released and these people start creating their accounts, many of them will use the reference that the game detects based on their IP, and then I'll be able to see who has referred who.
