swiss suggested to me that we start playing at organised times which makes sense. Why not take it 1 step further and try build a little tourney out of it?

Here's what I'm thinking.. teams of 4 or 5 playing extraction matches. The teams will be based on continent (or even country for Euros). Each team plays against every other team twice; 1 game hosted at home, 1 game hosted away. Each match consists of 3 rounds of extraction.. probably something simple for now like FFFRR. The away team chooses first map, home chooses 2nd map, away chooses 3rd map. Best out of 3, the winning team gets a point which will be managed in a special thread for the forums.

That's the basic idea. Should be really fun. So if you're interested just post here and we can start seeding the teams. If you're part of a clan you can go together.. otherwise we'll try mixing up the talent as much as possible (split Phrst and swiss for example). Anyway, we'll see how many teams we have once people sign up. Also give us a general idea of what time of the week you can play.

Anyone and everyone is welcome. The more the better. Also if you have any experience with these things (BLING?) share your thoughts on how we can structure it better.

Sounds like alot off fun. We just have to make sure that there is someone to host a game in each continent at the time. (i've seen a server for most areas, so this should be fine).

We also need to set a few ground rules for the servers too. I.e how much money you get per death, number of gangsters (if any).

There may not be any rewards for winning, other than bragging rights. But come on anyway, and play for the honour of your country

yup, it's all about bragging rights. and experiencing a more intense, competitive form of play.

I would suggest we use these settings:
Death Credits = 1000 (less money means more strategy with weapon purchasing)
Freeze Time = 20s (gives you plenty of time to queue up skills.. remember this is competitive play!)
Round Time = 0 (no time limit)
Gangsters = 0 (not much point)


Suppose we get 16 people to sign up.. we can have 4 teams of 4 (most likely 1 Aus, 1 US, and 2 Euro). Organise times to play and get it on. If 1 team turns up with only 3 players, the other team decides for one of their players to sit out and spectate (making it a 3v3). If a team only has 2 players.. they can still try play if they want to.. but the other team only has to take out 1 player and still gets to play with 3.

We'll probably start this when the new version comes out (I'm aiming for the 1st of October) as everything will be more balanced (with new maps too). So you've got about a week.. just sign up so we get an idea for numbers. YAY!

yup of course not. It's nothing serious. We'll try organize the matches on weekends for when people are available.

Also.. when Aus plays Europe.. neither game should be home or away. Both games should be held in the US.

personally for me, match Russia & Slovakia(30+ ping) vs Australia(190+ ping) in the US (200+ ping) will be real nightmare...

ill try to catch a piece of fun from this... ill be "teleporting" all the time

well the idea is.. if Aus plays in Europe it'll be 400+ and if Europe plays in Aus it'll be 400+.. but the US is about halfway so it's 250ish for both matches. I think I'd rather 2 250 matches than 1 50ping and 1 450 ping match

hey im in for the tourney but i wont be available to start playing again once the QLD student holidays are over (first day back is the 5th of october), and i havent realy been logging in much over the last few days so i havent abandoned this game at all.
and no prizes for guessing the playstyle ill most likely have, but me teamed with a defensive focused phyical guy will cause a fair bit of havoc , especially when i get over halfway in BT




haha hey if you want to see really bad lag get a computer, install and run some Computer Virtualisation software (such as VMware or Virtual PC) and try to run any kind of game on it, it will be really difficult unless you have some really good hardware (1 modern server quality machine that is meant to host a dozen or so virtual servers wil do it with everything all set up right)
