Translation complete. But it still is not perfect. I already know about some issues and need to go into fine tuning. Also some term are a bit hard to translate so I have to make up my mind on how to do it.

Anyway, should be ok for a first version considering how much work it was. Must have been a hassle for you Ben to do this. O_o

Cheers,
chross

Dude this is amazing! I can't believe you've finished it so damn quickly. You must've worked on it all weekend cause there's over 1000 translation codes in there. Thanks heaps for this. I'll set up a german forum as well seeing as it's now an officially supported language!

Did you have any issues? Are there any text overflows (because some german words might be longer)? Maybe sentence structures are different like saying nouns before adjectives or something? Anyway let me know if there are any areas that might need fixing. If you noticed any typos or spelling errors in the English translations let me know about those too. Also, feel free to take liberties and change things if needed. For example if the description for Energize is just too damn huge and causes text to overflow, you can just reword things to make it neater. Even leave info out if you think it's for the best.. just do what you think will ultimately make the game experience as good as possible for our fellow German players.

Knowing you you probably would've done this for free anyway but I've gotta give you some CCs for this. Let me know when you're finished polishing it up and I'll add +300 community credits into your account. This same deal goes for anyone who fully completely a new language (and if multiple people work on it then you can tell me how to split it accordingly). This is extremely helpful and awesome. Cheers :D

Ben, there are apparently still some hardcoded phrases and terms. Mostly the server messages etc. are still in English. Is it because the server writes the log file with all the bells and whistles and then reads from it again?
I'll try and make a list of all "non-translatable" messages.

Hmmm, server messages you say. Which ones are those?

SERVER: Starting new round.
SERVER: USER has joined the game
SERVER: USER has left the game

I guess it is because you are sending the same message to all clients and the message won't be processed further by the client.

Ahh yup yup. Yeah these are really just chat messages sent out by the server, so all players will see them the same. I suppose I could translate them, but then if an american went to play on a non-english server and started getting foreign messages on their screen they'd freak out call in a bomb-threat or something :p Probably best to keep translations purely client side. If you notice anything else though let me know.

Also while going through the translations did you notice anything that just seemed out of date? I went through all the tip strings and stuff as I added the translations, so I think everything is accurate (no mention of sprint recoil or anything anymore), but I might've missed something.

I noticed some things but haven't written them down. I need to go through the whole file again anyway so I might as well make a post where I list those things. I'll do this this evening in approx. 8 hours.

By the way: are you planning to keep the skill names for all languages the same? This is actually a crucial point when translating the stuff.
Another question: did you use the terms consistently, for example projectiles <-> bullets, weapon damage <-> general damage, etc.?

Here are some untranslated terms (in red)
Under Extraction:
CAPTURE THE FLAG
RADIO RUN
GETAWAY

Under Objectives:
Flag
Radio
Truck

Frenzy:
+x mana per hit

When loading a map:
Calculating Lightining
...
...
..

Nearly all Map Editor stuff

Ahh yup, I want to keep all the skill names in English. Also the skill terms do have specific meanings:

projectile = anything that flies in the air (includes plasma etc)
bullet = bullets (not including knife)
weapon = weapons (including knife)
damage = all damage

Just a heads up, there are a few new translations coming in this next version (this weekend). There's no point trying to add them now as the game will erase anything it doesn't recognise from the German.ini file whenever you open it. But after you open the new version you'll be able to see the new ones by opening the German.ini file and searching for all the asterixes (the new translations will have * next to them).

I've only changed one existing translation and that is the skill description for Lasing Orb. I might change Explosive Rage in a bit too, but I'll let you know. Anyway if you want you can update this one now. Hopefully this won't happen too often as most of the skills are structurally fine now, and in the future I'll do this myself using google translate or something. But seeing as you're still working on it you can do it now if you want :D Here it is:

At the start of the round a Lasing Orb will spawn upon you. You can drag your orb around the map by standing next to it and holding barrier. This will also increase your barrier movement speed. Whenever a bullet or projectile is created near the orb there is a chance it will be lased with energy, giving it increased damage. However the orb will lase all projectiles, including your enemy's.

I'll add that.
Just wanted to assure you that as long as I'm around, you won't need Google Translator (at least for German). ;)

I've also updated the descriptions for regeneration and vampirism, as well as replacing explosive rage with a new one for parasite swarm.

So awesome! Thanks heaps chross. Loving ze german Subvein logo ;)

Btw, I noticed that two of the translations still had an asterix infront of them. I've removed them, but thought you might wanna know.

Cheers!
