These are the words of version 0.54. After listening to your suggestions and feedback Subvein 0.54 is an improvement over its predecessor in almost every single way! The fundamental gameplay has been changed in this version – and you’re going to love it.
NEW FEATURES & GAMEPLAY TWEAKS:
You can now ping by holding down alt.
Added a new skill: Radiation!
Added a new respect ability: Support!
Servers can now share custom weapon settings, allowing for all sorts of crazy gameplay!
Experience for killing enemies is now shared, preventing kill stealing.
Experience and Respect points are now displayed for everyone to see.
Mutating and gaining respect are also displayed for everyone to see.
Players display little speech bubbles when they talk.
New players now join servers with extra levels based on the average mutation of the server.
Completed/Failed missions are now reset upon returning to spawn zone (rather than having to die).
Little noises when people chat.
The buy menu now shows unpurchasable items in red.
The scorechart now shows absolute kills instead of mutation and respect points.
Spawn invulnerability duration is now 30s instead of 10s.
Everyone gets extra cash from combo kills (not just mercenaries) though they have been capped at 3000 credits.
Upon dying poor players are awarded extra money while rich players are penalized money.
Radios provide less protection to most guns and now almost no protection from knife.
Objectives immediately respawn if dropped in something dangerous.
Guns overall are weaker. Less damage. Less speed. Less range. More recoil.
Bullets are more visible.
Extracting an objective now rewards you 20 respect points instead of 15.
Using gangsters in missions only rewards you 50% of the total reward.
Being shot when invisible only mades you appear temporarily. Teammates can also see you when invisible.
The fun slowmo round over time lasts longer.
Weapons fade twice as fast as before.
The ammo cost for normal weapons is now 25% while the ammo cost for super weapons is 50%.
Super Weapons now only have 1 clip instead of 10, but a lot more ammo per clip.
Aiming has been improved. You can no longer accidently be aiming at the side of the wall and shooting up into the sky instead of at your target.
Added a new GRUNGE slider for sexier graphics.
Added options to remove the Buy Guns tab from the screen and mute Subvein without window focus.
MAP FIXES:
New map called BX_Downtown!
Moved the flag zones in BX_Subway forward to make extraction easier.
Fixed a weird invisible walls design flaw in BX_Keep.
BUG FIXES:
Made server lobby registration more stable.
Fixed a bug where your weapon would stop shooting all of a sudden.
Fixed a few bugs in the lobby.
Fixed a bug that caused skill queues to disappear.
Fixed a bug that caused grenades and other arching bullets to lob at the wrong times.
Improved online hit detection.
Optimised and fixed a shadow glitch.
MISSION BALANCES:
Pistol Practice now pays 5000 instead of 6000 but only requires 250 damage instead of 300 damage.
Death Lighting now pays 5000 instead of 10000 but lasts 20s instead of 10s.
Counter Snipe now unlocks at respect level 3 instead of level 5 and pays 10000 instead of 15000.
Speed Bombs now pays 10000 instead of 15000 but only requires 300 grenade damage.
Silent Stabbings now unlocks at level 5, pays 25000 instead of 10000 but requires 4 knife kills instead of 2.
Killer Clip now pays 25000 instead of 20000 and gives you 30 bullets instead of 20.
Rifle Range now pays 50000 instead of 25000, requires 50 hits instead of 20, but only has a 1 shot penalty for missing.
Hitman pays 50000 and only requires 8 kills instead of 10.
SKILL BALANCES:
Force fields now have more HP per level.
Regen starts off stronger at level 1 but becomes weaker by lvl 10.
Vampirism starts off stronger.
Invisibility recharge time down from 15s to 5s.
Bullet Time mana cost down from 25 to 20, recharge time down from 15s to 10s.
EBomb cost up from 20 to 25. recharge time down from 20s to 5s.
Stolen Seekers recharge time up from 20s to 40s.
WEAPON BALANCES:
Knife: more damage, much more damage to radio
Grenade: less damage
USP: more damage
Deagle: weighs less
Shock Revolver: weighs less
M24: fires faster
PSG-1: fires slows

- Black Hole only costs 10 mana instead of 20.
- Support has been removed as a skill and made to be the first every respect ability instead. It allows you to heal by standing next to your allies.
WEAPON BALANCES:
- The weapon changes are far too drastic to mention. But just know that all the weapons are weaker, slower, and have more recoil which in turn will make battles longer and more tactical.
- The super weapons have also been completely reworked to only have a single clip and cost more.
- Jump in and test them all out now!
BUG FIXES:
- Made server lobby registration more stable.
- Fixed a bug where your weapon would stop shooting all of a sudden.
- Fixed a few bugs in the lobby.
- Fixed a bug that caused skill queues to disappear.
- Fixed a bug that caused grenades and other arching bullets to lob at the wrong times.
